Have you been asked to get a Yellow Card? The Equip-Safe orange card provides you with national accredited training in operating EWPs, along with the option to combine with Work safely at heights training.
There are three training options available:
Orange Card Scissor Lift only:
- RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform
Orange Card Scissor Lift & Boom Lift:
- RIIHAN301E – Operate elevating work platform
- CPCCCM3001 – Operate elevated work platforms up to 11 metres

- CPCCCM3001 – Operate elevated work platforms up to 11 metres

Our Orange Card EWP training and assessment takes 1 day. Maximum class size is up to 10 operators.

Orange Card Scissor Lift, Boom Lift and Work safely at heights (Combo)
Duration
Our Orange Card EWP training and assessment takes approximately 1.5 days depending on experience and class size. Maximum class size is up to 10 operators.

LOCATION AND FREQUENCY
Orange Card EWP <11 metres courses are scheduled weekly at Equip-Safe’s Perth training venue in Welshpool (corner of Orrong Road and Kewdale Road) or they can be conducted on the client’s premises.
Equip-Safe is also happy to schedule extra courses for groups where required. Equip-Safe have two Scissor Lifts and two Boom-Type EWPs available for training.

GENERAL SAFETY TRAINING
- Risk Management
- Recognise a hazard
- Hierarchy of hazard controls
- Conduct routine checks
- Check log book and complete entries
- Set up the Scissor Lift
- Pre-start checks
- After-start checks
- Emergency procedures and manual lowering
- Conduct Quality Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Understanding the benefits of good housekeeping
- Managing waste
- Maintenance and storage of equipment
SCISSOR LIFT TRAINING COURSE CONTENT
- Operate Scissor Lift
- Operate in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Manoeuvre in tight areas in forwards and reverse
- Operate Scissor Lift slowly and accurately
- Conduct tasks at height
- Use the push-out deck
- Complete Scissor Lift operations
- Park safely
- Conduct post operation inspection
- Complete fault recording in logbook
BOOM LIFT (UNDER 11 METRES) COURSE CONTENT
- Operate Self-drive Boom Lift under 11 metres
- Operate in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Understand the Load Chart and how to get the maximum height and / or reach from the EWP
- Manoeuvre in tight areas in forwards and reverse
- Operate Self-drive Boom Lift slowly and accurately
- Conduct tasks at height, including driving at height
- Use all functions on the Self-drive Boom Lift under 11 metres
- Complete Self-drive Boom Lift under 11 metres operations
- Park safely
- Pack up
- Conduct post operation inspection
- Complete fault recording in logbook

- Safe use of Fall Arrest Harnesses (use 2 different harnesses)
- Conduct self rescue using
- Use Fall Injury Prevention Systems including: fall arrest harness, ladder, ladder bracket, adjustable lanyard, static line, static line shuttle, industrial inertia reel, adjustable rope lifeline with energy absorber and brake device, anchor points, karabiners, descender
