WorkSafe Issues Warning to High-Risk Licence Assessors

Worksafe Logo

WorkSafe WA recently cancelled the accreditation of a Perth assessor for improperly assessing High-Risk Work Licence applicants. The individual is now barred from conducting assessments across all licence classes and disqualified from reapplying for the next two years.

This decision has impacted 24 licence holders, who have had their certifications revoked and now need to repeat the training and licensing process to meet compliance standards.

“This case has led me to warn other assessors that WorkSafe conducts regular compliance activities in the licensing area, and it is likely they will be caught if they’re not meeting the required standards,” said WorkSafe Commissioner Sally North.

This incident underscores the importance of working with qualified and reliable trainers and assessors in high-risk industries. Proper training and assessment are essential for ensuring workplace safety and maintaining confidence in the licensing system. Learn more about High-Risk licenses and whether you need one here.
